How to make a Claim

Please find information on how to go about claiming on Material Damage and Business Interruption Insurance, Legal Liability Insurance, Motor Vehicle Insurance and Business Travel Insurance.

Material Damage and Business Interruption Insurance

What is covered?

Material Damage (Property and Contents) and Business Interruption that are not the result of a natural disaster. Claims as a result of Natural Disaster (earthquake, volcanic, tsunami and hydrothermal (e.g. geyser) activity and include fire resulting from any of theses events) can also be made to AIB initially and we can help you with making any claim required of the EQC.

Making a claim

  • Upon discovery, claims should be made directly to AIB.
  • Document and photograph evidence of damage. If another party is responsible for the damage ask for details of their insurance company.
  • Obtain quotes for repair or replacement.
  • Contact AIB before proceeding, an assessor may be required.
  • If you prefer to complete a Microsoft Word format claim form please contact AIB.
  • Email the completed form to  and copy your local insurance manager.

Legal Liability Insurance

What is covered?

Insurance cover for Professional Indemnity, Statutory Liability, Employers Liability – Bodily Injury, Liability – Abuse, General and Products Liability and Criminal Defence Costs.

There is no claim form as such, it is very important to give notice immediately you think there might be an issue that could give rise to a claim, either now or in the future.

  • All potential claims should be advised immediately to AIB.

Motor Vehicle Insurance

What is covered?

The policy covers all the vehicles held in care, custody or control. This includes all employees’ vehicles while being used in connection with your activity and any rental vehicles are covered while hired.

The claim form will be provided by Crash Management.

Claims

For all claims please contact Crash Management:

The operator will require the following information:

  • Your name, address and contact phone numbers
  • The name on the insurance policy that covers the vehicle (Anglican Church of New Zealand)
  • The policy expires each 31 March
  • Vehicle type, registration number and year
  • Name of Insurance Company (Lumley’s)
  • Name of Insurance Broker (Marsh)
  • A description of the damage
  • Location of the vehicle
  • Preferred time and place for pickup/ delivery of courtesy car

Note: If you are calling from the scene of an accident, please ensure that your vehicle is roadworthy before driving off. If in doubt, Crash Management will instruct a salvage truck to attend.

Crash Management will manage all arrangements.

Business Travel Insurance

What is covered?

This policy is for insuring business travel on behalf of member organisations, although private travel can be covered. Before you travel, please ask your member organisation to provide you with a Travel Assistance Card, this has the policy reference and contact telephone numbers if you require them.
